my name is Daniel, I’m an illustrator.
I love drawing, thats my main passion. there’s always time for drawing, when I’m happy, bored, angry even sad. These emotions feed my ability to draw.Things that inspire me are the things that surround me, buildings, people, objects and even sounds. I like drawing from life, so most of my work is drawn on location.
All illustrations are created using a variety of pens and ink.
I have a great eye for detail and thats what i try to encourage in my drawings. As well as using a lot of detail, i try to keep the compositions very simple and colour very limited. Whilst attending university studying for a degree in Design, i realized my passion and interests lie in drawing,since then i haven’t looked back. After graduating from university in 2008, i have worked on a number of freelance projects and regularly exhibit my work in and around London.

Sai is an illustrator, chinese, base in London, study fashion in Hong Kong Polytechnic University from 2002, but she spend most of the time to attended visual communication and philosophy class, and also drawing. She is mainly interested in drawing, illustration, and visual elements. Love to explore the boundary of drawing, always experiment on different media and style. Been shown her work in a magazine for free, now she is selling her works in Bricklane. Actually She wants to selling her skills for cash to spend on music.
About A better hell
A better hell was created by Sai in 2007, is a platform to translate her mind into visual image. Things go through her eyes, it chemistry with her mind, then translate into drawing. Inspiration from life and elements found around the city, and turn it upside down or mix with imagination.

I would describe my Artworks as Graphic Abstract. Using a range of medium, mainly acrylics and house emulsion, I focus on colour,composition,shape and my love of emphisis through repitition to explore the spatial interactions of objects against their settings, carefully selecting what encircles the mundane and my everyday and then combining as a whole to form getaways, inner worlds of design.
My Illustration consists mainly of a “Fashion” theme, geared more towards the music and magazine cultures using colour for immediate impact and taking influences from my surrounding. Slowly slipping into a slightly twisted dream/nightmare of an everyday fairytale. I think all illustation should contain at least a little dark magic.
I’m an image maker working from my Brighton based studio in the UK. My space is littered with photos, drawings and books ranging from The Bauhaus to Edward Tufte’s beautiful data visualisations. I’ve been drawing obsessively since I was a kid, on the back of envelopes, scraps of paper, anything I could lay my hands on. This obsession has grown over the years into a mass of travelling books, the ‘pictures from my pocket’ that capture my ideas.
Madi is an illustrator who recently graduated from the Arts Institute at Bournemouth with a BA (Hons) in Illustration. She mainly creates illustrations using a mixed media approach; combining collage, cut-up papers and fabrics with hand-drawn elements. She is especially interested in children’s book illustration, and loves inventing characters and creating illustrations to capture a child’s imagination.

Scott Nellis is an artist/illustrator who has just graduated from the University of Brighton with a BA(Hons) in illustration. He works mainly with pen on paper and loves to create intricately detailed drawings on a fairly large scale. The images, that are of quite a surreal nature, are based on themes that have been an effect on his personal life as well as themes that can affect all of our lives. The themes have included issues such as experiences in the workplace, relationships, and more recently, issues regarding how we are subject to surveillance and montitoring. Scott hopes to build a succsful career within the creative industries and is available for commissions.

baysan yuksel; a.k.a bayananderson was born in 1984. feeding herself with the so called post modern chaos she started to draw, paint, cut and paste. she; of course studied couple of things some related to art some not related. have done lots of projects and still doing. and still keeps drawing, painting, cutting and pasting. works and lives in Istanbul but also traveling.
The campaign is called Simple Acts, and is part of Refugee Week 2009 (15th-21st June) which is a countrywide programme of events including concerts, film screenings and exhibitions that celebrate the enormous contribution of refugees to the UK. This year the celebrations take on a new twist as people are invited not to raise funds, or make huge gestures, but to choose from 20 Simple Acts such as cooking a dish from a foreign country or watching a movie with/about refugees, which brings them closer to refugees. Every Simple Act –will be contributed to on an online total at Refugee Week.org.uk so people can see what a big impact they are making collectively.

Originally from London, Matt Lee has practiced as an artist and Illustrator since 2001. Matt joined Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology in Bangalore, South India in 2007. He coordinates the Foundation Art & Design program and lectures illustration and graphic arts on the Visual Communication program. I’m a freelance artist / Illustrator living and working in Nottingham, England a graduate of Nottingham Trent University with a BA in Graphic Design. I love to create I use freehand techniques, often incorporating digital elements later in the process. I’m particularly fond of fine-liners, sketchbooks, coffee and my dog, my inspiration comes from everywhere, friends, music, architecture… it’s a combination of life, bad singing and on occasion dancing, I’m so glad I work at home but not sure, the neighbours would agree. Apart from needing a bigger scanner, life’s pretty good in 2009. In 2008, I exhibited work at the Lace Market Gallery Nottingham. I will be having my second joint show with Contemporary Artist Jacqueline Liddle again there from the 7th – 16th April 2009 Also I will be on the cover of this years Issue of Contact, New Talent out in May.

Madeleine Stamer’s contemporary illustration and works on paper comprise of gentle yet slightly surreal imagery that delivers an edgy punch. Her metaphoric style echoes imagery found in Mexican folklore such as the Day of the Dead. In the eighties she was involved in the emerging Melbourne underground graffiti and street art scene which she notes as having a huge influence on her art. Her distinctive free-hand drawing features rich decorative line, beautiful flowing patterns and gentle yet bold imagery reminiscent of her favorite childhood character Miffy.?She is represented by The Jacky Winter Group which comprises of contemporary Australian illustrators.
